what is gold bullion & is it the same as regular gold?
What is gold bullion & is it the same as regular, valuable gold? I didn't realize it said "bullion" & I just bid on ebay for some! Uh-oh! Thanks! Here is the auction link. It says it is "9.6 grain (.4 dwt) nugget". I know nothing about gold, just my husband's bd is coming up & I wanted to do something nice for him. Did I make a good investment? Will it appreciate? (I paid $16 dollars total for it.) Thanks, everyone! Auction link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8394475873&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

- Gold bullion is gold in some sort of easily appraisable/countable/storable form - something like coins or bars. Not jewelry, nuggets, dust, etc. Yes it is valuable.
- Gold bullion is going for about 20 US dollars a gram. There are 15 grains in a gram. On ebay, the rates are usually higher than the actual gold value. I would not pay more than 15.00 for 10 grains (this is a pretty small amount of gold) They list most gold on ebay as bullion for the search engine, it is probably very small nuggets. True bullion has been tested for purity and marked by the company who made the coin or ingot.
